Terms & Conditions

1. Contractual terms and conditions

The following terms and conditions apply when you use our booking service(s). When

placing a Booking with us, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set

in these pages.


"Booking” means the process of the Customer requesting via Breeze Taxis that a Driver

provides transportation services to the Customer involving the provision of a Journey;


“Driver” means the licenced private-hire vehicle driver or a licenced Hackney Carriage

vehicle driver providing transportation services under this contract;


“Journey” means the service of conveying a Customer from one location to another in a

vehicle to such locations to be agreed orally or otherwise between or on behalf of the

Driver and the Customer;


“Customer” "Your" "You" means the individual being conveyed by the Driver from one

location to another in a vehicle;


"Breeze Taxis Ltd", "Us", "We" and "Our" refers to Breeze Taxi Ltd.


2. Bookings

Any collection or booking time we may quote to a customer is only an estimate and

should not be relied upon.


Whilst we will endeavour to meet the customer’s requirements this may not always be

possible due to circumstances beyond our control, such as but without limiting to, traffic,

roadworks, motor accidents, weather conditions, and excess demand.


We do not accept liability for any direct or consequential loss the customer may suffer as

a result of failure to meet a booking time.


If a wheelchair is required, this can be requested when making a booking. Customers

should be advised that a vehicle capable of transporting a wheelchair user may have a

lengthier wait time depending on availability.


We will do our best to meet a request for a specific vehicle type and/or Driver for your

booking, but we cannot always promise that they will be met.


The default pick up time will be 30 minutes after flight landing time on an Airport Pick Up and it is up to the customer to inform if they would like the taxi booked to arrive earlier or later than this duration.


3. Fares

Prices for journeys within the city are metered, with the mileage and waiting time based

on current Cambridge City Council's tariffs.


Whilst an estimate of the expected fare can be provided when the customer makes the

booking, this price cannot be guaranteed as the length of the actual journey will depend

on prevailing road conditions and/or other factors at the time.


Fixed fares for journeys outside the city will be agreed at the time of booking.


Fixed fares will be agreed at the time of booking for journeys to and from airports. Flight

arrival times are checked prior to the taxi being dispatched for airport pickups. However,

if the passenger takes longer than half an hour to emerge from Arrivals the Driver will

charge additional waiting time, currently £30 per hour or part thereof plus any additional

parking charges.


Fares are set out in the tariff card available in our vehicles and on our Website.


All quotations for bookings exclude any waiting time, additional drop-offs, pick-ups,

route or destination changes unless specified within the booking.


The fare for the booking will be in effect and start from the Drivers arrival at the pick up

location. An additional charge for waiting time shall be levied, calculated in accordance

with the tariff as laid down by the Cambridge City Council.


Breeze Taxis Ltd reserve the right to charge customers where a taxi is dispatched but is

unable to collect the passenger(s) for whatever reason.


Deliveries or removals are transported entirely at the customers risk and neither we nor

the taxi drivers accept any liability for loss or damage.


Drivers will not transport items which are radioactive, toxic, inflammable noxious or

otherwise of an inherently dangerous nature.


4. Liability

Any quotes for a pickup time or journey time provided to the customer are estimates

only and whilst all reasonable efforts will be made to convey passenger(s) to their

destinations in the shortest possible time, Breeze Taxis Ltd shall have no liability if any

bookings exceed the estimate or exceeds the customer's expectations for any reason.


Breeze Taxis Ltd have no liability to the customer(s) in connection with the time at which

the Customer(s) reaches the destination.


It is the responsibility of the Customer to accommodate for any unplanned delays or

known issues including adverse weather conditions, traffic, roadworks, road accidents or

any other unplanned/planned issues which may delay either the arrival of the booked

vehicle to the pick-up point or the length of the journey to the intended destination.


Breeze Taxis Ltd shall have no liability for any damage, loss, costs, claims or expenses

(whether foreseeable or not).


It is up to the customer to ensure that any valuable, unusual or any other items are

covered by appropriate insurance and/or kept safe whilst on a booking. We are not

responsible for any loss or damage to any such items.


Breeze Taxis Ltd will reasonably endeavour to fulfil all Bookings and to notify the

customer(s) of the cancellation if we have to cancel the Booking . We shall have no

liability to the customer(s) if we cancel a booking.


5. Payment

Our booking services are provided by us to the customer free of charge. We may on

occasion separately apply a Booking Fee arrangement on terms to be determined by us

and notified to the customer before the Booking, made payable to the Driver unless

required otherwise by us.


Additional costs may be payable by you where your journey involves car park charges,

tolls, wait times or extras.


If you download our Booking application, you will have the option of pre-registering your

credit or debit card for paying future fares. If you pre-register your credit or debit card, a

pre-authorisation transaction may be made on your card which will result in a temporary

hold or card check of up to £1.01 by your card issuer as a "pending transaction". This also

means that your balance will be temporarily reduced by the same amount. This is not a

permanent charge and the funds will be released and available to spend after a short

period, typically 3-10 working days (though the length of the hold may vary depending

on your card issuer or bank). This is known as a pre-authorisation hold or funds validity

check and helps us to confirm that the card you are using is valid and has not been

reported for fraud, lost or stolen.


Payments for Bookings can be made by credit and/or debit cards via the booking

application, over the telephone or on our website booking portal. Payments can also be

made to the Driver by cash or credit and/or debit cards. We only use approved third-

party payment processors to manage and process payments from your credit and/or

debit card account and will be subject to the terms and conditions of our third-party

payment processor(s) merchant acquirer and your issuing card authority in addition to

this agreement.


Customers may be required to pay the agreed fare upfront to the driver when asked to

by Breeze Taxis Ltd or the Driver.


If a Booking is made via the App, all journey charges will be shown on a receipt emailed

to the Customer by Us using the email address provided when signed up to the

application. If a receipt is otherwise required, the Driver can be requested to provide one

at the end of the journey.


Payment for bookings from outside Cambridge boundaries and Airport Pick Up Transfers will need to be made to Breeze Taxis before a taxi can be dispatched. We reserve the right to cancel your booking if this payment is not received before dispatch time.


6. Promotional Offers

Any digital promotional offer referred or received is only valid for use against future

journeys booked via our booking application service and can only be used when paid for

by a pre-registered credit card. Offers are non-refundable and non-transferable and

must be used within the specified time period and according to any other conditions

attached to the offer as specified at the time of issue. The promotional offer is only valid

for the fare portion of the journey. Any wait time, tolls, car park charges or extras etc. are

not part of the promotional offer. Any winners will be emailed or called to be informed and giving of winnings facilitated. We reserve the right to withdraw any promotional

offers at any time. 


7. Customers

On making a Booking with Breeze Taxis Ltd, the Customer agrees that they:

  • shall not endanger or threaten to endanger the Driver or damage or threaten to damage the Drivers property including any vehicle.
  • will comply with applicable road safety laws and health & safety requirements.
  • are responsible for the good behaviour and complying of all laws, regulations and requirements by all other passengers.
  • will if a vehicle is soiled by any passenger, pay the applicable soiling fee of the local authority under whom the Driver is licensed to pay the cleaning costs.
  • understand that eating, drinking, vaping, and/or smoking is strictly forbidden in the vehicle. Drivers may refuse to transport a Customer they believe to be intoxicated.


8. Cancellations

All cancellations are advised to be requested as soon as possible.


A customer may cancel a booking within Cambridge City boundaries before the Driver has arrived at the pick-up location. If a Booking is cancelled whilst the Driver is at or near the pick-up location, the Customer will be charged a fee.


If a booking is cancelled for a journey out of Cambridge City boundaries after the Vehicle

has been dispatched, the Customer will not be refunded. 


If a Customer is not available at the pick-up location for any reason after 10 minutes once the pick-up location is reached, the Booking will completed and not be refunded. The journey will have to be requested as a new Booking under a new agreed payment.


For airport bookings a Customer must cancel within 3 hours of the agreed pick up time.

After this window, the Booking cannot be cancelled or refunded.


9. Refunds

A refund will be given where the Customer cancels an Advanced Booking within the

time limits specified in these Terms & Conditions. Refunds will be made to the

card/original payment method within 5 (Five) working days. We will charge 5% of

booking fare.


For cancellations outside the limits specified within these Terms & Conditions an

application for a refund must be made in writing and any refund will be made entirely at

our discretion.


10. Complaints

All complaints should be made in writing to info@breezetaxis.com.


11. Personal Information

We will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy on our website.


12. Lost Property

Breeze Taxis Ltd do not accept responsibility for any lost property left in vehicles but will

endeavour to assist as fully as possible to return property back to its owner. We follow

council rules and regulations which direct Drivers to search for misplaced property at the end of a journey and contact us to arrange return of any lost property back to its rightful owner.


Lost property claimed by a customer will need to be identified with an accurate

description of the item and the journey. Items can be collected by the customer from

our office.


If the lost property needs to be returned to the customer a fee will be charged based on

our location to the preferred destination. If a lost property needs to be returned whilst

still in the Driver's possession a fee will be charged on the Driver's current location and

the preferred destination.


Lost property brought to our office by drivers will be dated, recorded on a property found

register and locked away securely for a maximum of 5 weeks. Unclaimed items after 5

weeks with personal data will be handed to the police. All other items will be given to a

local charity. Perishable food, drink and medicine will be disposed of and Passports,

driving licences and bank cards will be returned to the issuer within 24 hours.


13. Amendments to the T&Cs

Breeze Taxis Ltd reserves the right to alter or vary these Terms & Conditions in any

respect at its discretion and will notify of the relevant alterations and of the date upon

which such alterations take effect on our Website.


Customers are advised to check the most up to date Terms & Conditions before entering

into an agreement for a Booking.


14. Applicable Law

These terms are governed by English & Welsh law and you can bring legal proceedings

in respectof the booking services in the English & Welsh courts. If you live in Scotland you

can bring legal proceedings in respect of the booking services in either the Scottish or

the English & Welsh courts. If you live in Northern Ireland you can bring legal

proceedings in respect of the booking servicesin either the Northern Irish or the English

& Welsh courts.

  • Information that is requested and submitted by you over the website in the form on online bookings, Requesting a call back and includes details such as name, email address ,telephone numbers and credit card and debit card payments.
  • Information that is collected over the phone when you make a phone booking, includes details such as name, address, email address, telephone numbers and credit card and debit card payments.
  • Information that is collected over social media booking (Facebook), includes details such as name, address, email address, and telephone numbers.
  • In addition to the information which you supply to us, information and data may be automatically collected through the use of cookies. Cookies are small text files the Site can use to recognise repeat users and allow us to observe behaviour and compile
